Can I also record at VNU Mixing & Mastering?

No. Unfortunately, you cannot record at VNU Studios. We only offer mixing and mastering services for your finished productions.

What services are included in your offer?

Unless otherwise stated, the Mixing offer includes free mastering, as well as simple vocal tuning (e.g. Autotune).
The standard data export is in 16/24 bit - 44.1 kHz WAV.

Other formats, DDP images and other variants, such as instrumentals, "a capella" etc. are not included in the offer, but can be requested and ordered separately.

I recorded at my Homestudio, can you make it sound good?

Generally speaking, this is possible, of course. Great raw material, like great soudning recordings and Beat Stems are mandatory to achieve great results with mixing and mastering, though. The better the material, the better the end result can be.

That means both the sound quality (recording room etc.) as well as the performance (passion, energy and vibe in the voice), as well as the provided beats and their individual tracks are crucial!

If you are looking for the best result possible, I can not recommend enough to get help from professional Producers and Recording Studios to create you raw tracks!

Do you also offer mastering only?

Yes, I also offer mastering, for already mixed songs. The basis would be a stereo track of the mixdown, whereby I also always like to have the mixed a capella and instrumental provided separately. So I get a little more flexibility.

Note: This process is the finishing touch (e.g. tonal balance, final loudness), but the material is no longer fundamentally changed. Therefore, it is essential that the mixing is already finished and the song already sounds good before mastering - unfortunately, a bad mix can not be saved through mastering!

How long does it take to process?

One should currently expect a processing time for mixing of individual songs of approx. 8-10 working days after all data has been received and payment has been received. You will then receive a first version, which then will be adapted to your detailed requirements if necessary and finalized together.

If it has to be particularly fast or if there are packages of several songs, individual appointments are necessary.

What payment options are there?

  • Payment is generally to be made in advance - you will receive a corresponding link to your individual online invoice in advance.

  • Payment methods: bank transfer, PayPal

How should the audio files be prepared?

  • Tracks preferably in 32 bit float / 44.1 kHz or higher (use the original resolution of your recordings)

  • WAV or AIFF files

  • Without any effects such as EQ, compressor, reverb, limiter, etc. unless they are an integral part of the sound (filter sweeps, flangers, etc.). When in doubt, it is best to export two versions, one with and one without effect.

  • Provides the DIs of guitars & bass if possible.

  • Make sure that there is some headroom regarding the volume (keep the original volume of the recordings) and do not clip / overdrive anything.

  • Export all audio files with the same starting point so that I can import all tracks properly.

  • Name tracks and folders appropriately.

  • Include some information, such as reference examples, BPM (+ midimap if the tempo is variable), lyrics, etc.

  • Send a rough mix of your song if possible

  • Anything else I need to know

How can I submit the data?

In general, you can use any trustworthy data transfer service to provide me with data (e.g. via https://wetransfer.com to studio@vnumusic.com or via Dropbox - via direct link, please).

How many reviews or change requests can I make?

I offer unlimited reviews and will respond to your change requests until you are 100% satisfied! * However, 1 to 2 rounds are usually sufficient.

* However, I reserve the right to charge a processing fee if:

- Change requests cause a complete or partial revision of the project with a considerable amount of time, without this being known beforehand.

-After a period of more than 2 weeks after receiving the last Mix / Master, requests for changes or data exports, etc. can be requested again without this being known beforehand.

I look forward to your inquiry!
